The Role of Saraswathy Educational Trust:

The Saraswathy Educational Trust, in consultation with Saraswathy Hospital, is responsible for planning the outreach program with the support of local clubs like Rotary Club Parassala and other NGOs to organize camps and other necessary strategies to reach deserving beneficiaries.  Following the screenings, the Project Committee conducts an additional review of cases that may necessitate surgery.  The Committee, in conjunction with the hospital, ascertains the technical feasibility as well as the cost outlay of the treatments, thereby approving individual cases for free-of-cost surgery at the hospital.

The Role of Saraswathy Hospital:
Saraswathy Hospital, Parassala, has been successfully implementing various diabetes-based projects and camps with the support of Saraswathy Educational Trust over the past two decades.  In addition to offering stellar medical expertise to charitable initiatives such as this, the hospital contributes various services, including surgeries, at a subsidized cost.  Dr. S. K. Ajaiyakumar, the Director of Saraswathy Hospital, is also a member of the Rotary Club of Parassala.  His renowned expertise and proven track record in treating diabetes-related ailments will draw support from the local community and reaffirm the spirit of commitment to the project.  In this project, Saraswathy Hospital, Parassala, conducts the screening of patients, offers surgery, delivers counselling for the needy on preventive foot care practices, and provides post-surgery care at a subsidized cost, as defined in the project.

Local Initiatives:
This is a stand-alone project implemented by Saraswathy Educational Trust with the support of Saraswathy Hospital, which is responsible for conducting screening camps. However, if genuine beneficiaries are referred by other local clubs, such as Rotary Clubs or NGOs, the Project Committee will extend the scope of this initiative to include them, subject to approval.
